چکیده
THE EFFECT OF HYPOXAEMIA upon the cerebral blood flow (CBF) has been studied in anaesthetised animals, 1-:~ but only intravenous anaesthetic agents, usually pentobarbitone, have been investigated. No studies have been made of the effect of induced hypoxaemia upon Cur in animals under inhalational anaesthesia. The present study was undertaken to determine the effect of hypoxacmia upon CBF at two levels of anaesthesia with methoxyflurane.

The Effect of Hurdling Performance on The Adaptive Profile of Cerebral Blood Flow in Vestibular Irritation
Background: The reactions of the whole organism that occur under the action of accelerations of rectilinear and rotational motion are factors that have a systemic effect on the cerebral blood flow. The use of hurdling performance in the structure of human physical activity can have a significant impact on the tone of the brain vessels, their elasticity and venous outflow in the development of f...
متن کاملRole of Nitric Oxide and ATP-Sensitive K+ Channels in Regulation of Basal Blood Flow and Hypercapnic Vasodilatation of Cerebral Blood Vessels in Rabbit
Background: The mechanisms underlying cerebral hypercapnic vasodilatation are not fully understood. Objective: To investigate the role of nitric oxide (NO) and ATP-sensitive potassium (KATP) channels in basal blood flow regulation and hypercapnia-induced vasodilatation in rabbit cerebral blood vessels. Methods: The change in cerebral blood flow was measured by a laser Doppler flowmeter in 18 Ne...
متن کاملThe effect of inhalational anaesthetics on hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction and pulmonary vascular resistance in the perfused lungs of the dog and cat.
Alveolar hypoxia produced an increase in pulmonary vascular resistance in isolated cat and dog lungs or lobes perfused at constant flow. This response was abolished for varying periods of time by the administration of high concentrations of inhalational anaesthetic agents. In these preparations 5 per cent halothane caused pulmonary vasodilatation whereas 15 per cent ether, 1.5 per cent trichlor...
متن کاملA patient-specific study of blood flow in a cerebral aneurysm using medical images
Background: Cerebral aneurysm disease causes intracranial hemorrhage by rupturing, which can eventually, lead to organ failure or death. For this reason, it is important to anticipate the reasons for rupturing of a cerebral aneurysm from biomechanical point of view. Investigating this disease may even help the physicians to find treatments and predict the patient’s situation. This research was ...

The mechanisms underlying cerebral vasodilatation during hypercapnia are not fully understood. To examine the role of nerves and prostaglandins in the regulation of basal blood flow and in hypercapnia-induced vasodilatation in the cerebral blood vessels of rabbit.Cerebral blood flow was measured by laser Doppler flow-meter in 18 NZW rabbits anesthetized with sodium pentobarbital. Tetrodetoxin ...
